How To Kick-Start Your Design Project
Tackling a new design project can feel overwhelming, especially if you have no idea where to start. It's easy to buy things here and there, but when you bring it all together, you can't quite get the look you had in your head. The Getting Started Guide is an easy way to organize your next project before you buy.
There are four things to consider before getting started:
1. What Do I Want My Space to Look and Feel Like? It's all about the vibezzz! Do you want your space to feel comfortable or formal? Having a solid idea of the overall feeling you want for your space will make all of your decisions to come SO much easier!
2. What is My Budget? Toss or Keep? Budget is a HUGE part of the design process, and having your priorities straight before you start is key. Decide which pieces you are willing to invest in, the items you are willing to compromise, and what you are comfortable spending as a whole.
3. What do I need? Every space is different, in terms of size, layout, style, and function. Understanding what the space looks like and what it is used for will help you determine what should be on your shopping list.
4. How Much Space Do I have? Measuring before you start the design process is incredibly helpful in understanding what to look for, and will give you a better idea as to what will fit in your space.
